25 per cent of children aged five to 11 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

The government has already reached yet another incredible milestone in the vaccine rollout – 25 per cent of children aged five to 11 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! We’re off to a great start with this milestone coming just over two weeks after booking eligibility was expanded.

Over the coming weeks and months, we need to stay the course on reaching those who have not yet been vaccinated. Every eligible Ontarian is strongly recommended to get vaccinated as soon as possible or receive their booster if they are eligible. All parents and caregivers are encouraged to book an appointment for their children aged five to 11 today. Achieving the highest vaccination rates possible remains our best defence against COVID-19 and variants.

If your child hasn't received their vaccine yet, book an appointment today. Appointments can be booked online at York Public Health COVID-19 Vaccination Site or by calling 1-877-464-9675.
