Extension of Emergency Orders to July 10 + Sport AmendmentPublished on June 30, 2020
The government has extended all emergency orders currently in force that were made under s.7.0.2 (4) of the Emergency Management and Civil Act until July 10, while removing restrictions that were limiting access to certain sport training facilities. This decision was made in consultation with Ontario’s Chief Medical officer of Health to ensure the safe and gradual reopening of Ontario on a regional basis as part of Ontario’s Framework for Reopening the Province.
A full list of emergency orders can be found on the e-Laws website under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and at Ontario.ca/alert.
After a safe reopening of the sport sector, it has been noted that restrictions we had in place were impacting businesses that operate outside the recognized sport organization system. Our government has made changes so private and non-affiliated facilities, such as private ice rinks and indoor soccer facilities, may resume activities and facility rentals to train amateur and professional athletes only. This change is effective immediately.
