Modernizing Cyber Security across the Ontario Public Sector

Published on October 16, 2020

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. Increasing awareness and educating private and public sectors on cyber security is critical – personal and confidential information entrusted to the Government of Ontario by people and businesses across the province must be protected.

As part of Ontario’s Cyber Security Strategy, the government appointed ten new members to an expert panel to help modernize cyber security across the Ontario Public Sector. Members of the panel will provide advice to Minister Thompson on how to address sector-specific issues and risks in the broader public sector.

Drawn from a broad range of professional backgrounds and industries, the panelists will develop recommendations to improve our province’s digital resilience. Working closely and collaboratively with our partners in the broader public sector, we will address the rapid evolution in volume, scale, and complexity of cyber threats and will expand the delivery of secure digital services.
