Ontario Helping Protect Communities Against Racism and HatePublished on October 01, 2021
Racism and hate have no place in Ontario. We have a responsibility to speak up and act against the injustice, intolerance, and discrimination that racialized individuals continue to experience. To help tackle this urgent problem, the government is supporting important community-led initiatives through a $1.6 million investment over two years starting in 2021/2022.
Solutions to address racism and rid our province of hate are needed urgently, but these solutions will not come from government alone. By empowering those on the frontlines of tackling hate in our communities, we can better provide the supports needed to connect communities and make significant progress in fighting against hate in all its forms.
Eligible organizations, including community-based, not-for-profit organizations, can apply for grants of $40,000 over two years for independent projects, or $100,000 over two years for partnerships between two or more organizations. Interested organizations should submit their application no later than November 15, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
