Ontario Launches Applications for 2021-22 Seniors Community Grant

Published on June 11, 2021

During the COVID 19 Pandemic, many of Ontario’s Seniors have had to combat social isolation and anxiety through safe and community-based activities. Many of these activities have moved to virtual settings during the pandemic. That is why the government is investing $5 million in the 2021-22 Seniors Community Grant program to help enrich the lives of older Ontarians through more grass-roots organization.

This funding is an increase of $1 million from last year’s grants, and will help older residents to safely take part in community life through social and educational events giving seniors the support they need to live active and engaged lives. Successful applicants will receive a grant of between $1,000 and $25,000 to provide programs, learning and social opportunities for older adults to safely enjoy as Ontario continues to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These grants recognize and empower the incredible work being done in communities across Ontario to help our seniors live active, safe and connected lives.

Ontario’s Seniors Community Grant program supports the health & well-being of older adults by keeping them safe and active. The 2021-2022 application period is open until July 16, 2021(TBC). Learn how to apply today: https://www.ontario.ca/page/information-seniors-organizations#section-0
