Ontario Youth Environment Council

Published on July 23, 2021

The new Youth Environment Council will help ensure the environmental leadership and contributions of young Ontarians and their inspiring actions are helping find solutions to some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time such as climate change and conservation.

As the leaders of tomorrow, we want to work together with youth as we look for ways to protect our environment, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of climate change.

Ontario youth in high school are encouraged to apply to be volunteer members of the council by August 4.

This council will meet monthly from September 2021 to April 2022 to discuss a range of environmental and climate change issues and provide feedback on potential solutions to ministry officials, including the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

We encourage youth who are in grades 9 to 12 as of the 2021 fall school year, with a passion for the environment and an interest in finding climate change solutions to apply to be members of this new council.
