Over 20% of Ontario’s adults are fully vaccinated

Published on June 18, 2021

Ontario has reached a very exciting milestone in our vaccine rollout: over 20 per cent of Ontarians aged 18 and over are now fully vaccinated! Here in York Region that number stands at more than 25%! These milestones brings us one step closer to moving to Step Two of our Roadmap to Reopen.

In addition, yesterday over 12 million doses have been administered provincewide, including over one million doses administered in the last six days and over 200,000 doses per day for the last three days in Ontario.

We continue to accelerate second doses to provide maximum protection against COVID-19 variants and anticipate that with sufficient supply, the majority of Ontario residents will benefit from a two-dose summer. All Ontarians are encouraged to book their second dose as soon as they are eligible.

Note: Step Two requires that 70 per cent of Ontario’s adult have received at least their first dose and 20 per cent of Ontario’s adults are fully vaccinated, along with continued improvements in key public health and health system indicators. The province will remain in Step One for at least 21 days.
