Permanently Allowing Alcohol with Food Takeout and Delivery

Published on December 10, 2020

Ontario’s vibrant hospitality sector and its workers have been hit hard by COVID-19.

Local restaurants and bars are essential to community life in Ontario. The government is delivering permanent changes to help them recover and plan beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re implementing new permanent measures, which include allowing licensed restaurants and bars to sell alcohol with food and takeout orders, to provide Ontarians with more opportunities to support local businesses in their communities.

As a result of these changes, frontline workers in Ontario’s vibrant hospitality sector will be able to count on expanded opportunities to contribute to the recovery of communities across our province.

The government is supporting local jobs and workers in Ontario’s hospitality sector by permanently allowing licensed restaurants and bars to include alcohol with food as part of a takeout or delivery order.

To support local jobs and workers, we are delivering permanent help for restaurants and bars by permitting alcohol delivery with food orders.
