Ontario Administers 9 Million Vaccine Doses

Published on June 02, 2021

Only eight days after Ontario reached the eight million doses milestone, yesterday the government has reached another incredible milestone with over nine million vaccine doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered!

We continue to expand access to the vaccine across a variety of channels, and with over two-thirds of adults having received at least their first dose, Ontarians have been provided with a strong level of protection against COVID-19. We are now beginning to accelerate second doses for all Ontarians and with sufficient supply, we anticipate that the majority of Ontario residents will benefit from a two-dose summer.

This achievement is a true Team Ontario effort, and it is thanks to the incredible work of our public health units, vaccination sites and other health care partners.

The government continues to accelerate second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. If there is sufficient vaccine supply, Ontarians can look forward to a two-dose summer. As of Friday, May 28, 2021, an additional 300 pharmacies across the province began offering the Pfizer vaccine.

Every dose administered means we are one step closer to the end of the pandemic. We encourage everyone to sign up to receive their vaccine as soon as it’s their turn. Residents have the option of 14 Aurora and Newmarket pharmacies:
