World Suicide Prevention Day

Published on September 10, 2021

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. This day is a chance for everyone around the world to join the conversation about suicide and support those who have been impacted by a suicide attempt or loss. The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention’s theme for this year is, “Creating Hope Through Action.” In addition to sharing information around available supports, people across Canada are encouraged to do their part by lighting a candle in their window at 8:00 pm to recognize all lives impacted by suicide.

If you or someone you know is struggling, it’s important to reach out for support. Talking about #suicide can help prevent it. ontario.ca/mentalhealth
